I share your respect for science, the scientific method, and the achievements which have made for a relatively comfortable world. It's interesting that many of the earliest scientists were devout Christians (Kepler, Newton, Pascal...) and not simply due to the fact they had to agree with the religious authorities of their day (Galileo).
Both Christians and atheists use science in support of their case. Therefore it takes a bit of examining to see how science is being used, and whose case is better supported. Hopefully this approach will reveal that it is better to base our beliefs about God and the Bible on what we do know, rather than on what we don't know.
1.
IS SCIENCE AN ALTERNATIVE TO RELIGION?
Science, or at least scientific materialism, is almost the dominant religion
of our culture. What do scientists have to say about this?
        2.
        WHAT IS SCIENCE?
One should not expect more from science than do
scientists. Hear science defined by Einstein,
        Hawking, Wickramasinghe, and Crick.
        3.
        WHAT IS CHANCE?
Chance is the focal point of atheistic cosmology
and evolution. Is chance an ambiguous creative effect that neither has
        nor needs a prior cause?
        4.
        WHY CONSIDER THE BIBLE?
If one believes in science and scientific investigation,
this chapter should prove an irresistible challenge to either prove or
        disprove the Bible.
        5. WHAT IS
        TRUTH?
A goal of both science and Scripture is to provide
us with an accurate description of the world around us; a true picture
of reality. This is only possible if there is indeed such a thing as truth.
        6. IS THERE
        A GOD?
        This
is the cosmological argument for the existence of God, using the origin
of the universe to methodically reveal the character of God. This shows
that belief in God is rational, logical, and reasonably accounts for the
        universe around us.
        7. WHERE DID
        THE EARTH COME FROM?
If you doubt there could be parallels between Scripture
and science, I challenge you to look at the summary at the end of this
        chapter.
        8.
        WHERE DID MAN COME FROM?
(The first of ten chapters on the subject.)
If you still hold to eighteen-century Darwinism, you haven't kept up with
modern atheistic explanations for the origin of man. More than creation
vs. evolution, the argument has become science vs. evolution and many
        anti-Christians are leading the fight.
        9. INTELLIGENT DESIGN THEORY
IDT is a scientific approach to origins that is
devoid of both evolution's materialist philosophy and creation's premise
of a supernatural God. Strictly adhering to facts in evidence, IDT evaluates
whether or not any particular subject of study is the result of intentional
        design.

Many
people live, work, and vote based on their belief in the Bible.
This affects you. Should the Bible have that authority?
View the evidence and judge for yourself.
